Experience
I attended the University of Phoenix where I recently earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. However, I have been tutoring and helping children for over five years. I have extensive experience tutoring children, and I have tutored both in private homes and in an adolescent inpatient psychiatric facility. At the psychiatric facility, I taught academics to children in group and classroom settings, and this helped me gain both teaching experience and experience working with children with behavioral and psychiatric disorders. Many of the children I taught came from poverty and had dealt with major traumas in their short lives. Some had learning disabilities, as well. This experience made me ready to deal with children from a variety of backgrounds and with varying special educational needs. I can tutor young students in a variety of subjects, including math classes ranging from basic arithmetic to algebra 2, English, reading, and writing. When not tutoring, I enjoy playing the guitar and watching cartoons. I also like checking out the latest comic books.
